No Box Tops

mykids, I am thinking you have a small school even though it is consolidated, right? I am behind you on this. I think you should do this and promote it anyhow you can. Last year our low income little rural elementary school sent in over 22,000 Box Tops. That's a lot of trimming but so worth it. According to the info on the Box Top website we ranked in the 99% in state and nation. Not bad for a bunch of poor hicks. If anyone can get it done you can!

I'm a little confused. Are they saying no, even though the teachers no longer has the responsibilty.

We are a new PTO this year (second year school). At present I have a lot of jobs besides secretary. I started out also doing the Box Tops. But that is changing quickly and a mom who is a PTO member is taking over our labels - Box Tops, Campbell's and Tyson A+.

Box Tops should be an easy fundraiser and can generate a decent amount of money as melloweer said. It should in no way be stressful.

We also have a contest for the class that brings in the most - we actually combine the totals of Box Top's, Campbell's and Tyson A+. At the end of the year we have either an ice cream party or pizza party for the class that brings the most - either party chosen is donated.

All of our teachers receive an 10" x 13" envelope w/ a chart attatched. The Room Parent collects, counts and fills out the chart once a month. Then the room mother puts all the labels in a box for the coordinator. The coordinator takes care of the rest per what each company asks when sending in labels.

Don't give up - keep fighting for those collections. We continually advertise these as easy fundraisers where parents don't have to do anymore than they already are. Parents love that!

Good luck!

Michele

We brought in around 4k last year from Box Tops. The way we run it is like this: we have a large box in the front office for box tops that we collect each month. When the kids bring in them, the ones designated as office helpers bring up envelopes we preprinted with the teachers name on them. We track each class as to who has the most and the class with the overall most of the school gets a cookies and milk party, or popcorn and sprite party. I think it's an awesome program and a super easy way to bring in a large amt of money.

Um, yeah, I am litterly in negotiations to chair the Box Top for Education collections. We now have three principals (triple the fun  ) the original founder/principal is still present but wants me to talk this over with the "Trio".

Last year a third grade teacher was chair and it was a mess! I finally sent in the tops everyone collected ($5.80) and so now the Em. Principal doesn't want to add any more to the teachers. The dept leaders have told me she is crazy, they see kids bring them in anyway and would love to know someone is actually taking care of it.

I have the packet they sent to the chairperson, should I just ask to look over the CD with the El Principal (whom I'm reporting to on this one I guess)? I should mention, I'm doing this as a mom, not PTO Sectretary.Awe, who am I kidding, PTO mom :D .

Maybe I just need a kick and some confidence.....
