My frustration is this...with that limited a budget I was hoping that we could get a lunch donated one day but so far no luck...I went to 3 local restaurants and 3 local business today and no one could/would donate. We have 13 classroom teachers but a total of 35 on staff so with a $130.00 budget that is approx. $3.00 per person.

Any suggestions for a limited budget & time frame are welcome!

Thanks-
Dawn

I know that I am a little late getting here...but why not do this... get a few boxes of round glass ornaments and about 5 different colors of paint...squeeze paint in and then shake the balls...then, whoever is helping you, why dont you just get a couple bags of hamburgers and buns and whatnots and have a little cook out for them...that would keep your budget under and still make them feel like atleast YOU care about them. I am sorry that i didn't see this sooner, I own a pottery business and would have been honored to toss some ideas about pieces that you could have gotten and and then held a small painting party for them to be able to sit around and paint and talk about the upcoming year, i am sure they would have liked that.
Keep me in mind this year, should you need me to help you make something happen. I am new to the pottery business but I know that I can help others create beautiful gifts for the ones they love and care for.
Remember me at Christmas time as well...

We are a new PTA board this year and do not have any idea's other than a breakfast for them one day. Some fun activities have been thought of such as a before they were teachers photo contest and the breakfast has been tossed around. But I figured with so many different schools and diverse people here, there could be some really great ideas around. Thanks ahead of time.:D

Please consider at some point this year, having the children paint large pottery pieces for the teachers? I just did a medium sized piggy bank, each student painted a square on the pig and then I painted lines and made it look like a patchwork pig...it is a huge hit, everyone loves it and they will all get to have their own little color on it.
If not this, consider maybe ordering pieces for each student to paint, it can be incorporated into the lesson plans.

gubbyshoe I think those things sound great. I did call Pizza Hut today and no go there...nothing to offer but a couple of coupons. I am quickly coming to the realization that we will have to spend all our $130 on a lunch and have nothing left for any "goodies" or fun stuff through the week

This is the first year for our school to do anything for the teachers--I guess they used to get each other little things--how sad!!! We have basically no budget, , but I still wanted to do something each day...
Monday--lifesavers in a baggie: "Thanks for all you do. You're a lifesaver!"
Tuesday--microwave popcorn wrapped with the saying: "We're bursting with appreciation!"
Wednesday--mints: "You mint so much to us this year!"
Thursday--my dad owns a print shop, so he is donating pads printed with George E. Greene Teachers Rock!!
Friday--cans of pop wrapped with the saying: Pop, Pop, Fizz, Fizz... Oh what a great teacher you izzz!!! :)

We're also doing cookies in the teacher's lounge on Tuesday with a little sign that says "Tough cookies don't crumble!"

It's not much, but it's the first year and I think it's a good start!!!
