principal leaving wasn't told

17 years 2 months ago #135978 by dlf
Plus there may be some sort of point of embarrassment about him leaving so they might have wanted to have things settle a bit and discuss how to broach the parents about it all. I would be upset however, as mentioned above, wouldn't take it personally--or at least I'd try not too. I would wonder why, however, the VP or someone I'd had a leadership relationship with didn't speak to me. d

I'm with beignet. Don't give up on the tremendous work your group has obviously done for the school. When the new principal comes in, set up a friendly meeting to introduce yourself and let him/her know what your group has been up to in previous years and extend the offer to help in any way possible with their transition into this new job.

Hey Rocky, watch me pull a rabbit out of my hat.

I dont see an issue, and I wouldnt take it personally.

There is probably a very good reason the prinicpal didnt tell you.

And as for janitors knowing before the rest, I have found that is very often the case and doenst mean they were intentionally informed before parents, its just that they often learn (hear) of things before others do.......

Probably the district head didnt get around to informing parents officially, becuase their priority now is to fill the empty spot.

I am a regular poster on here but want to stay unknown for this. Today as I went into school I was told by a member of the custodial crew that our principal left! He cleaned out his office last Thursday and that was that.
After this conversation I was then hit with the staff knew last week as it was on a chat site, an email went out and so on.
I guess what upsets me is that here I find out five days letter and it wasn't even from the district office, it was the custodian. So I am wondering what is the importance of parent involvement if the parent group leader found out this way.
we have a very good volunteer program with over 45% of our parents volunteering, our group has been recoginzed nationally, have been in PTO Today twice and so on. We have always been considered a very string force and the disrespect that I am feeling is tremendous.
How would you feel if after all of this work that you found out this way? I mean I guess it needs to be finalized but why couldn't anyone just say hey you might hear this...
I guess I am hurt and not sure that I want to continue fighting the battle to keep increasing involvement...help!
