Are there other board members you can appeal to who will put pressure on the president to be fair in all of this? Or can you go to the principal with your concerns?
No-it sounds like she is still considering me-however she is trying to delay the vote because she has heard from other parents that they may be interested-but no one else has applied. Now she is saying there needs to be an application process-this the day before the vote. It sounds like a stalling tactic to delay the vote so her friends could be included. There was a deadline and I met that. On top of all this-she has not communicated anything to the parents of all students except the Aug. 31 deadline-only those she knows are getting the extension.
It sounds like she wants her buddy in there and I would call the group on it. you were the only one who had the interest to step up on time before the deadline and therefore they should at least consider you, has she given you a reason why you cant do it?

Hi-I am currently running for a PTO board position-treasurer. The former treasurer resigned last month. All of the current information I have received from the board said to submit an application letter-which I did by the deadline (I am the only parent with interest that was on time). The current president has changed what she wants done quite a few times. She is now saying she wants to delay the vote until she gets more parent interest and they need to make sure the canidate is going to be a good fit. Shouldn't she have done all this last month?? I have heard that a friend of hers is thinking about running-and I am now afraid it is turing into a favorites contest (she is known to do this). Does anyone have any ideas on how I should handle this?
