She clearly has some nerve to ask for her money back. On one hand I totally agree with the other posters about not giving her the money back, but on the other hand I might consider it a small price to get her out of your hair and be done with her once and for all. Personally I think I would give her the money and tell her I hope the door hits her in the A** on the way out.
I'm usually a pretty big fan of keeping the peace. I mean not much is worth the bad press that not refunding an unhappy customer brings. But in this case I would definitly not refund the money. There is no way that the former President could even raise this without making it sound like sour grapes...
Sorry--the 75 dollars has already been spent that you for your interest....d
There is NO WAY we'd (our organization) refund her money!! If there is nothing in the bylaws, NO WAY! sometimes i just don't understand where people come from. that's like giving your kid a birthday gift then telling them you want it back.
I think as long as there were no strings tied to the donation then she should NOT get it back. Tell her that she can write off on her taxes, though. It's to bad that she doesn't see that her donation is not for the PTO, it's for the kids. And I am sure she has kids still in the school. So, its still going towards them, too. Best of luck!
inhawaii -- i would tell her, if she is not happy with your position of NO REFUND, to go to the principal or supt with her juvenile request. sounds like she needs a course on anger management and plain old 'maturity'. brother. you and i could probably write a book about PTO sob stories!!
