Puffy, our ASP coach turned me on to a website forthe Foundation Center which helps you find grants and you can search by category.Just type The Foundation Center in the websearch. Hope this helps.
I sat down the other day and made a list of the businesses in our community that were large retail or manufacturing then started checking out the "community" section of their websites. In the afternoon I started making phone calls and in no time I had two businesses that faxed me forms and I completed them and sent them back, one business who e-mailed me all the forms and I'll be giving that to our grant coordinator tonight, and three businesses where the person I spoke with is taking the program information I gave them right to committee to try to get us some dollars! I didn't have a negative experience with any of the businesses I contacted, in fact some of the people were so nice and impressed with the program that they are personally making sure that our request gets to the right people even though some of their funds were used and no longer taking applications. They wanted to make sure we're first on the list when the grant programs open back up. Can't beat that!!
I've posted a few sites that may be helpful. I can't remember where though. Perhaps a quick search site will help. Library Mom has shared a few links just recently. Perhaps that will help. I haven't got to look over the new site but maybe that will be in one of the sharing links (HINT HINT).
Greetings, My understanding is that a 501(c)(3) corporation can request grant money to use for its non-profit organization. Where can we find what grant money is available? How lengthy is this process? Also, how is this request done? Thank you very much.
