I am so sorry, nothing is harder. How is the Principal about this, does he/she know? My main concern are her children and if she is stopped for DWI the emmaressment to go with it.
In the meantime, make a call to you school district's legal people and ask them what you can do legally and where responsiblities lay just incase....just incase something we don't want to think about happens. CYA
Stay strong, go over the duties for your VP and see what can be shared for now, and is there events she would have chaired that two parents can co-chair (I like to co-chair).
Seek your Principal's help in keeping rumors and gossip to a minimum.
Help our new board Vice President has a drinking problem that was apparent at the last PTO meeting. The rest of the board is worried about the problems that may arise if she shows up to a PTO event/fundraiser etc. intoxicated. I hardly know the woman and don't feel that intervention is an option with someone I don't know very well. I have spoken to a couple of people close to her and have been told that it hasn't worked in the past. She was voted as VP because the other board members didn't know and NO ONE else volunteered for the position. Has anyone ever encountered this problem?
