But NOT SURE how to come up with it. I would like to just ask parents for donations, but I don't think that will be a good idea.

Any suggestions would be wonderful.

Thanks,
Charlene

We also used Gametime because they had a matching grant. We got a $25,000 piece of equipment for $12,500. Our president raised $11,000 of that by going to businesses that don't usually get hit up for donations. In our area, that's alot of oil production companies, outfitters, welders. The funeral home was good for some bucks and our hospital has grants set up for programs encouraging activity. We got $1000 from them!
We also raised a bit over $1000 by simply asking parents for it. We wrote a note asking for $1 per student. Some sent in that dollar, some didn't and others sent in a $20 bill.
I think it's perfectly acceptable to ask parents in an instance like this as long as it isn't happening more than once a year.

We are starting a playground committee at my school and I am in desperate need of help. No school in our district has ever had a playground and the parents are definately excited about getting one. I realize that it will take a couple years of fundraising to accomplish this goal. I looked into the prices and it will cost us about $100,000 and it will be a community build!
Does anyone have suggestions on making money for the playground or how to get grants!! I am overwhelmed at this point and don't know what to do.
please help

I would love any information you could send my way. We just decided to raise money for a new playground structure and are in the process of forming a committee.
Thank you

Unfortunately our Superintendant currently holds a different view point as the parents of the school. Based on that information we also beleive the facilities / grounds personel will follow suit with the super.
