I received their brochure and pricing info last week. I live in the Dallas area (tho dont know if location has anything to do with pricing, as long as they have a facilitator near).
$995/day for 1-2 days
$950/day for 3-4 days
Evening programs: $150/hr or $250/2 hrs
My cover letter says "due to travel costs...we
must have schools scheduled for 3 or more days". "Earth Week" is $1250/day.
Hope that helps. Oh, and has anyone had good luck with Parent Education Programs???
We saw the "Earth Balloon" at the Chicago PTO Show and plan to have them next year. Anyone know how far in advance we have to book? Will probably have to contact them over the summer.
I just booked Whereabouts for our school for next year. So glad you had a great experience. Metzy Mom, you might also want to check out the actual "Earth Balloon" site (Earth Balloon.com). "Whereabouts" was recommended to me by one of the first Earth Balloon originators, Dave, whose company actually has three balloons that travel throughout the United States. However, He recommended Whereabouts because our school is in Illinois and that is where Whereabouts is located. (Whereabouts purchased a module from Earth Balloon and is run by a former school principal and museum educator.) I was impressed he would recommend another company and was further impressed that even though he does run a competing business, his main goal is to reach out and educate children through this program.
We just had Earth Balloon from the Whereabouts Company come to our Elementary school this week.
We had them for two full days, plus an evening Family Geography Night.
The teachers, staff and students were very impressed. The EB Facilitators credentials were impressive and they modified their program to fit the age group they were presenting.
They are WORTH the money. The facilitators also said they would be at the Chicago PTO show. I wish I could go!!!
