Question: Appointing Officers for Next Year
We held a year end "officer election" meeting and no one ran for office. Now we have some people willing to share the officer's posistions, (allowed in our by-laws) but we won't have another meeting before the end of the yr. Can our executive committee appoint these people to office?

Craig writes:Yes, go ahead and have them take over, then confirm it by holding elections at your first meeting of the year. I would present the new officers as a slate and ask your members to confirm them in their new offices rather than opening the election up to other nominations.
