What are incentives for the parents who are paying membership dues?

We recently began to coordinate and host after-school enrichment programs this year and, as an incentive for parents to join the PTA, we open program slots to children of paid PTA members first. After a set amount of time, we open up the program to non-PTA members if there are spots left. It's the first year we did this and our membership numbers doubled from last year--coincidence? Maybe, but maybe not!
