Question: non-profit approval letter vs. EIN letter
We have a fundraiser sched. at Barnes and Noble and they said they need our tax exempt # along with the letter would they be talking about the EIN or the letter approving our non-profit status?

Your school itself is a non-profit, too. If you don't have the IRS docs for your group, you can often arrange it so the $$ check gets cut to the school itself. FYI -- a public school wouldn't have an IRS letter. It's simply non-profit by definition. Tim
