Question: Bake Sales

In our county, school bake sales have been banned due to childhood obiesty. So last year I school stopped all bake sales. However, we never sold at our school but rather at the family masses at our church. Yes, some of our customers were our school community and also our church community. is there a exception to the rule.

It's possible, yes, that if your bake sale is run by the PTO rather than the school itself and it's not held in the school, then you are OK. In this case you would promote it as a fundraiser for the PTO rather than for the school. It all depends on how the rule is written. Your best bet is probably to get an opinion from the county or from a school attorney.
