Question: Laws for PTO's
What are the laws regarding PTO's in reference to bank accounts and filing? Our PTO has a seperate bank account from our 501c3 school, but the Director will NOT let us see the account and claims the account goes under the School's taxes. We tried to seperate ourselves from the School, but she will not allow it and wants to maintain control over decided where the money goes. The Parents want a say over where the money we raised(over $5000) is spent and the Director wont allow it. What do we do?
