Plain language is fine -- it's more important that everybody understands what's in the contract than to use legalese. List expectations on both sides -- when delivery is required, what you expect to be delivered, service expectations (if it's for equipment, for example, do they set it up or do you?), etc. Have both parties sign and date it.
