As part the PTO’s Family Fright Night event at Patriot Elementary in Papillion, Neb., students of all ages brushed up on their math facts with “mad math snakes”—a glass tank full of rubber snakes that had numbers on them. The lower grades had to pull out two and add them together for a prize, and the upper grades had to multiply them. They carried the snake theme forward with a photo booth with feather boas.
