The Essex (Mass.) Elementary PTO holds an annual Messy Art Night, where hundreds of students explore 16 different art stations in a fun, unstructured way. Organizers planned the event in part to showcase the vibrant art scene in Cape Ann (on the North Shore of Massachusetts), and more than a dozen local artists helped with the night’s activities. At this station, students created a tissue paper mosaic mural to represent the nearby Essex Marsh.
