To increase meeting attendance as well as ease the stress of coming to meetings on school nights, the PTA at Independence Elementary in Lewisville, Texas, established Family Pizza Night at every meeting and enlisted administrative staff and teachers to offer homework help during meetings. The PTA provided pizza to anyone who came, as a way to connect with parents and talk about the PTA and the school.
