Opened in 1872, Roger Williams Park Zoo is one of the oldest zoos in the country and has won national acclaim for its conservation programs in recent years. Students can visit with more than 100 different species of animals. The zoo participates in the Species Survival Plan Program and is home to a red panda, an African elephant, and a giant anteater.
