“Helping you help your school” was the cover line of our first issue, published in September 1999, and that simple statement of our intent has remained the same in the 15 years since. Looking back at that time, PTO Today president and founder Tim Sullivan says that although he’d “never written for a magazine or designed anything or sold an ad,” that first issue “all came together because the need was so clear. The stories wrote themselves with the help of great PTO and PTA leaders and there was an enthusiastic response from advertisers who love to help those same leaders.”
