I'm finding that crockpot cooking has been on the rise for busy families, mine included. Why not prepare crockpot meals that can be frozen and taken out and heated when needed. There are many crockpot cooking websites, but this is just one that I found that might help you plan and organize this venture:
Hi Monica,
This sounds like such a great idea! And I can see how you'd need a volunteers and contributions to make it work. I'll put a post on Facebook this week to get additional input from our community there. I'll add the link here once it is posted.
Several years ago, we arranged for parents to bring in supplies for a meal to be taken home by each of our school's 60 staff members. Other parents assembled the ingredients into casseroles, put salads together and added desserts. Then, it was boxed up and given to each staff member to take home and bake for dinner. While a really nice thought, it was a lot of effort and we had trouble getting parents to bring in items. PTO had to pick up a lot of the cost, and we had not budgeted for that. We'd like to send them home with a meal again (or at least a main dish) but I was wondering if anyone had any simple (not 25 ingredients) and budget-friendly take home meal ideas.
