Office Depot
used to host a Teacher Appreciation Breakfast. You might check with your local store. (But I'm not sure it was in May with the national observance. Might have been beginning of school. In fact, now that I think of it - I'm sure it was late summer and mostof the office supply places have events then.)
The
How Does She?
blog/email has some "printables" for Teacher Appreciation - a pennant and some note cards. But you need to join their mailing list to get them. Not so much FOR the teacher as for those organizing gifts/celebrations.
Oddly enough a few of the things I saw posted this year were earlier in the spring. Sea World (CA) had a free 2011 fun card, but the offer expired 4/30. There were some free admission at museums for Teachers in April. Not sure why they wouldn't have these offers run through the national Teacher Appreciation week.
Febreze had a
contest
going where you nominate a favorite teacher (150 word essay). Aside from the contest, each entry would get two free samples -one for themself and one for the teacher. It was supposed to go through this week, but they had such overwhelming response, they are no longer giving the samples. (Still taking essays for the $5000 prize.)
