We actually hold our auction in conjunction with our Fall Carnival using either the library or the cafeteria, depending on the number of items and events/needs for that year.

At my kids' school we hold the auction at a function room at hotel. Parents really look forward to the night out and figure they would pay the same price (as the tickets) to go out for dinner and movies.
Would love to hear from other groups where they have their auctions.
We do not ever hold auctions and it is something we are looking at doing. But what event do you have that it is held at? Our spring is pretty laid back... but we just can't seem to find a time or event to hold one.
