Just wanted to let you know we had some successes even after getting rejections through the proper channels. For example, managers at Subway and Carvel both said yes even after we got rejections going through corporate applications. Also, Dooney & Bourke only donates if you know someone who works there (according to our sources on the inside).
Regarding Elite Island Vacations. I don't know where you are & when your school breaks are but $1,750 for 2 is a bargain for an all-inclusive vacation. I have been to the caribbean during a school break & have paid over $3,00 for my son & I (I am a widow & travel with my son and I have to pay for him as an adult due to the whole "based on double occupancy" or "single occupancy" surcharge pricing . cruise alone is is upwards of $3,000 for a cabin which would be of equal value to the accommodations. I've spoken to other moms who are families of 4 & more who travel & they feel it is still a bargain as well since the kids under 11 pay $60. It may not be a free vacation but it is a good deal.
What about the global safaris, how long does it take to hear back from them? FYI, ask your scholastic dealers, ours gave us a great box of books that will make a nice basket?
