I like that idea too, Geoffrey!

Thanks for reminding people about the need to have a movie license.

That's a cool suggestion! We've generally shown movies that one of the board members owns.

I hope everyone knows that you're supposed to get a "public performance license" to show the movies outside your home.

We hold a movie night twice a year in the fall and the spring. As the families enter - we jot down their name on small piece of paper. At the end of the movie- we draw a winner for the DVD!
There is no charge for admission. We sell "snack packs" for $1.00 which includes a small bag of chips and a drink- (usually capri sun).
We show our movies in our 'multi-purpose room'. It is a wide open room which has a drop down screen. The kids wear their PJ's and bring blankets and pillows. We have chairs along the perimeter of the room as well.
Parents may drop off their child if they are in grades k-4, but must stay at the movie if there is a younger sibling attending. We have a volunteer and each entrance of the movie room that monitor the hall and bathrooms.
The kids have a great time. Do they ever sit quiet and watch the entire movie?? No- it becomes quite the busy social event for the kids! :)
