We did a movie night for our middle school and the kids loved it. I think having on an early dismissal is a super idea. YOu are on the right track to have the kids pick it. We also found that having HS students help out for community service hours added to the allure of the event. TOo many parents involved makes kids NOT want to go.

I need ideas for middle school students. Do you think a FMN will interest them or having a movie day on early dismissal? I would like them to choose the movie

I'm PTO President at our school. We had family movie night for grades K-3. I knew that we needed to show the most recent release in order to get families in. We showed Justin Bieber's "Never Say Never". AWESOME choice! We presold/and at-the-door admissions for $1 per head. Presolds were slow at first, but the week of, we hung the PTO Today's movie announcement banner and the sales really perked! Movie night....we were packed for only 3 grade levels. We sold popcorn, Capri Sun, canned drinks, pizza slices and bagged chips and bottled water. The canned drinks was donated by a local grocer. We bought pizzas for $4.50 whole and sold for $1.00 per slice (8 slices per). Beginning the popcorn an hour before doors opened really reached the hungry crowds. Raffle tickets were given to those who gave 50 Box Tops or paid $5 for a ticket. We made almost $300 after purchases for the event....Just for 3 grade levels!!! Looking forward to 2 movie nights this upcoming year and possibly a better run!

Hi-
We had 2 movie nights this year and they were a huge success. We were thinking of holding on over the summer and inviting incoming families (transfers and K) to come and have a playground date before the movie. I am wondering if other schools have done this and how did it go? How close to back to school did you hold it? Any movie suggestions? We did UP and Toy Story 3 for our mn this past year.
