It depends on your By-Laws -- we have $1,000 roll-over but the last few years we have rolled over much more than that -- partly because we were raising money for the purchase of air conditioners -- we purchased them and still had left over the past two years -- this coming fall we will not have anything but the $1,000 as we didn't raise as much. Why can't you book assemblies for next year? Did you spend all the money that was in the budget for things for the school? Is there something special that the school wants/needs that you can purchase for the school for next year -- such as playground equipment, air conditioners, art supplies, computers, tv's for classrooms? Outdoor equipment for lawn care, plants/shrubs for beautification committee? Also, how about $$ to each classroom for end of year party? You can target some of the money that is left over to go towards something else if you want but probably will need to have a General PTO meeting for parents to vote on that.
I was wondering if anyone knows if there is a law in NJ that limits the amt of money that can be rolled over to next year. I have almost 5,000 left from this years fundraising and the incoming people are having a fit about us leaving it to them. we started with 1,200 and raised over 11,000 this year. i want to book assemblies for next year and can't. any ideas.
