Does it have to be on school letterhead? Does it have to be sent any certain way in the mail or can it be faxed? We are down to the wire as far as the 20 day prior deadline.

I wouldn't spend too much time making sure that letter is perfect. I'd likely mail it, email it and fax it. Wouldn't FedEx it or the like by any means.

If they say "you can't leave because your letter wasn't technically correct"... well, that would be kind of ludicrous.

Here are two letters in our File Exchange:

1. Letter to Parents informing them of a meeting to consider the switch: www.ptotoday.com/filesharing/document/59...h-letter-for-parents

2. Letter to a state PTA informing state PTA of that intention: www.ptotoday.com/filesharing/document/59...of-disbanding-letter

Do you normally pay for ads in the paper for your meetings? If no, then you don't need to do that here. Sufficient to make the notice of this meeting the same way you make notice of all your events and meetings.

Question: where are you in process? Has it already been decided and executed? Or are you contemplating the change? Different letter, depending....
