Hi Jaime,
You are probably ready to roll, but just in case you need some (very) last minute tips, I wanted to share two link to really good welcome packet resources:
Hey Ladies!
We are having our first meeting of the year next week and was wondering what yall were putting in "Welcome Packets". I'm also looking for just a new "registration" type forms for new parents.
Thanks so much!
Jaime Smith (Buffalo PTO President).
We have purchased 2 pocket folders for the past 3 years for the students. They go home the first day in conjunction with the necessary paperwork that the parents are required to have such as student handbook/code of conduct, etc. We work with the school to have a checklist for parent homework on what needs to be returned by the end of the first week of school. Included as part of the parent group packet are:
1. Welcome Back Letter - Tells when we meet, who the board members are, who we are, our website, etc.
2. Event Calendar for the year
3. Parent Group Mythbusters
4. Parent Homeroom Volunteer Form
5. PEX email sign up form
6. 10 Reasons to get involved - This is available in the file exchange.
We have never put in the Spirit Wear pre-order form but that is a really great idea!
We have in the past used folders - running around town finding the 2 pocket folders for .01 variety of colors.
I really wanted to use 10x12 (ish) envelopes.. but I not found a good deal on 25 pack of orange folders ... thinking I am going that route.
I am placing in there our 1st newsletter - which will include a welcome statement
calendar for PTO events
box top labels etc info
volunteer info
officer list
10 reasons to get involved
our Fall fundraiser
membership
spirit wear
