Much of this depends on what your group's mission is. In general, most parent groups have a mission to enrich the children's educational experience and promote/help foster a school community that supports kids and parent involvement. So, your group can determine what it does and doesn't want to spend money on based on those goals.

On a deeper level, if your group has targeted the issue of improving kids grades, then you might want to zero in on some specific enrichment programs that have more of an academic focus. You can also look at math clubs and other after school programs that will dovetail with the curriculum.
