The National Society of High School Scholars - Any Value?

After doing some minor research; my suggestion to you is to contact an institution that might recognize the organization: such as a university.

A beautiful selection of <a href=""www.freshfuitbaskets.com/" target="_blank"">corporate gift baskets.

My daughter got a letter this week offering her the opportunity to join the The National Society of High School Scholars. The fee is $45.

This organization is not the same as the National Honor Society. From what I've read/researched it's not a scam but appears to be of very little true value. While their criteria for selection claim high GPA and exclusivity, it sounds like practically anyone can get an invitation. And once a member, you get additional "opportunities" to purchase related items.

So does anyone know more about this group? I'm not seeing any value and I don't think it would really add any weight to her high school resume. But if someone else has had a different experience, I'd appreciate info.

NSHSS Mission:
The mission of The National Society of High School Scholars is to recognize academic excellence and to encourage members to apply their unique talents, vision, and potential for the betterment of themselves and the world.

Thanks
