Sack race, egg-roll, (you can buy 'em as a kit) lwn dart, badminton, jump ropes, sailboat kits (think oriental trading co has em), 3 legged race, softball game
If you can build fires- apples cored out with (red hot) or fruit of choice (or pie filling), campfire dinners (sliced potatoes, carrots, ground beef, corn, onions) these 2 wrapped in foil and cooked in the ashes of the fire or grill, then smores for dessert

We are trying to organize a Mother-Son "Campout". This will NOT be an overnight event, but rather a day (evening) of fun in the park with games and ending with a hay ride (in sept or Oct). What kind of ideas do you have for games, food, decorations, etc? Thanks!
