Ok, I had to laugh yesterday. My daughter came home and said "Mom, I have some things for you". It was a plastic coffee mug and a key shaped pin and a photocopied note from the "volunteer coordinator" saying thanks.

I know it's the thought that counts and I do appreciate the thought, but the photocopied note was tacky in my eyes. But then again I guess that I'm use to higher standards due to my work ethics.

Secretary's Day, now called Administrative Professional Day, is on Wednesday, April 27.

Shawn, speaking of male genes and remembering dates, my husband insisted that we get married on his birthday since he is so bad with dates, it is the only way he can remember it. My kids have to remind him of my birthday every year even though it's only 10 days before Christmas.

Thanks I'll check 'em out.

I'm lousy at Calendar dates, events, anniversaries, birthdays.. maybe its just my genes (I am male after all)

I am a good conniseur (sp?) of flowers, I always send good flowers

"Chase's" sounds interesting. I don't think there is one in our library.

When I was pres I used an "It's Elementary" catalog. They would have all kinds of dates in the back. Also www.teachervision.com has some dates and probably www.educationworld.com.

Was Secretaries Day April 20? I forgot about that too. Our PTO usually sends the ladies in the office something.

Chases Calendar of Events is a book that most libraries carry. It list events by month, day and week. It's a wonderful rescource. I would not reccomend buying it as it is published with updates every year and is expensive. I done some searching on the web, but have not had any luck with anything that compares with the book.

National Volunteer Week the the 3rd full week in April. The dates change of course, but the week doesn't.
