No real vacations this year and places have 2 be close. A 30 mile drive could take 2hrs here in SoCal. Gas over $3
Local park has H20 playground with sprayers, YMCA pool, local library, park with bicycle trail and gammies house.

Makes me thankful my husband just wants me to tell him where to go and what to do as a familiy. It makes things a lot better. I also drive because traffic is too frustrating for him. Gotta feel bad for the guy though, he's been working nights for 6 years and I think "dealing with people" is just too tough. We haven't gone anywhere this year becuase of gas. Planning something good for next year.
The irony of commitment is that it’s deeply liberating-in work, in play, in love. The act frees you from the tyranny of your internal critic, from the fear that likes to dress itself up and parade around as rational hesitation. To commit is to remove your head as the barrier to your life. --Anne Morris
We went to the zoo Monday. All of us becasue it was HIS vacation and we HAD to do something. Anyway, after the gorilla sat and scratched herself and two trutles were more natural than I wanted to see, not to mention it was so hot, I finally convinced my hubby to get going home. It was 3:00 and by the time we left the zoo and got back on the road we hit ruch hour! A twenty minute drive was an hour with five tired and hot kids!
We usually go in the morning and have a picnic lunch at noon when we leave...
now he wants to goto the mountains....only if I get to set the schedual!!
