Hi temple2001!
Thanks for sharing. Like the recipe for the bouncy ball. Another option for "recipes" is for goop, gas, or slime. Kids love making this stuff! We have lots of recipes for these on our Family Science Night board on Pinterest.
We did our first science night last year and our second one this year. We have used several of the activities in the PTO Today Science Night kit. The Harnessing Power of Electrons was a good one for the 2nd - 4th grade kids but 5th graders and older were a little bored with it. We had a lot of success with the Kinetic Energy experiment using the jumbo craft sticks as well as the building the catapults. We did an activity this year that was not in their packet. It was making a bouncy ball out of glue, borax, and water. You can search for various "recipes" online and find the one that works the best for you.
Family Science Night is a great event. Here's a link to our Family Science Night kit. It's a free download with a planning guide and step-by-step instructions for 20 different fun experiments. Good luck with your night!
We would like to have at least 5 tables with different science experiments for the kids.
As usual, getting parents to help is painful. This whole year, me ( president ) and my friend which is the treasurer have pulled all the events together and made everything happen.
Any Ideas on what experiments (besides the volcano) we can do?
