Hello,

Our students want to raise money for the Red Cross, but I think it would be great to lend a hand to a specific school or your group in need!

I am not sure of the legalities, but it may be worth looking into! Also, this would be a very small donation, as we are in a rural location.

Please let me know if you know any legal donating tips for collecting for other groups?
It would be great to help!

Thanks,
Maxine

Hi folks,
This message was posted on our Facebook page right before the Thanksgiving holiday and wanted to post it here

Original Message:

ADOPT A SANDY STRICkEN PTO: Our Grammar School PTO needs your help! We are looking for another PTO willing to help our school and community bounce back from devastating losses. Like all PTOs, one our most important roles is raising funds for enrichment activities. Our primary fundraiser is a Gift Auction that we have held for years. This year our auction was slated for 4 days after the storm. The work had been done, the gift baskets were all ready. Sandy had other plans....Almost all of our gift baskets were lost in the flood of our grounds, and on the original date of the event, our community was just beginning the long road to recovery with the destruction throughout the town.

Our PTO board has RESOLVED to hold this event in Feb. If there was any year that our children need the enrichment activities that this fundraiser supports it is this year. Many of the children were personally impacted by flooded homes.

Our predicament-
We can't go back to the local businesses for more donations, they have been severely impacted by the storm.
We can't even charge our regular ticket price as so many families have the financial burden of rebuilding in some way.

Our request-
We are looking for PTO/PTAs that would be willing to help us by soliciting for and organizing gift baskets and donations in their local area that we could auction off.

If you are interested and would like to learn more, please leave a comment below.

If you just want to support us by a LIKE we would be grateful or that as well!
— at St. Rose Grammar School.
