This past year our PTO hosted a Faculty Talent Show in January. Teachers were apprehensive about signing up, unsure of whether or not anybody would attend. Let me just say, it was held in our cafeteria and was STANDING ROOM ONLY!!! The teachers started off the night with a flash mob, we had singers, a band, a depiction of the 3 little pigs, dances, and an awesome teacher as the announcer! This night was so good, we uploaded many of the acts to
youtube (check the link).
This was a FREE event for all - no out of pocket for PTO & no charge for parents to attend. Our parents feel overwhelmed with fundraising so we wanted to offer a night of entertainment for the entire family without having to worry about money. It was a great opportunity for our parents and students to see a different side of their teachers.
This event just so happened to coincide with the 100th day of school, a day our kindergarten teachers dress up as senior citizens. This attire added another dimension to the show entirely! Our principal is so awesome, he allowed the show to be performed for the students the next day at school!
Parents and teachers talked about this event the rest of the year and began planning for this year almost immediately afterwards. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS EVENT!!!!!
