Harvest Fest Ideas

What we are doing for our Family Fright Night is a couple non-carnival things that are also educational. First we got a really great deal on a Photo Booth. Those seem to be the "in" thing right now and both parents and kids will love it. We are also having a Cupcake walk. Same as a cake walk but with cupcakes since the kids are little. We are also making slime ( thats our science part) with glue and borax that the kids get to make gross with spiders and things. Every kid will get a small bag of slime to take home.

We have our Chiense foutne teller, which is just an upside down fish bowl and the "foutune" is a fortune cookie.
Than a lollipop tree where you can win prizes, really for the little kids and siblings. A snake pit which is like a duck pond where they will pull out snakes and the small ones have to add the numbers and the bigger ones have to multiply. Get it right get a big prize.

Finally we are trick or treating up and down the halls. We get some teachers to help. The kids love trick or treating with their teachers.

Thats what we are doing for our. I hope you got some ideas to help. We do ours after school in the evening, from 6-8. It usually goes over real good.

Good luck!

Hi mamain06,
Thanks for sharing that! Love the idea of "cross volunteering,'' and I'm sure other schools would be interested in it!

Thanks,

Our school district has decided to band together and although we all still have our own PTO we hold monthly district wide PTO meeting as well. This works well with helping with ideas and now we are cross volunteering. We are going to attend thier events and help them and in return they are going to help us as well. This might be something for others to look into also

I see some of you are saying that you stay away from the games due to lack of help. Have any of you tried calling the local high school. There are Juniors and Seniors who need/want community service hours for their college applications or may even be a requirement for ROTC class.

Our school is hosting a halloween hallway - not too spooky.

Would love any info on planning from a-z. What kids can help with or create?

If your school has a haunted house/room - how did you decorate it? black plastic or painted cardboard?

We're thinking of themed areas such as a cemetary, witches room. thriller room, fortune teller, mad lab, etc.

Would so appreciate any type of time line or planning guide.

Thanks!
