Our PTO has a small selection of new spirit wear to sell at open house; keeping it simple, a choice of three t-shirts. Each year with new student arrivals, and for the returning kids, they want something new. We keep the cost low on the shirts at Open House, just so we can get the kids in them and showing their school pride. We will offer a larger variety of spirit wear as a fund raiser, a month or so later.
We also have tables set up for PTO membership, which we sell for $5 per family. With the PTO membership, each comes with a lanyard in school colors and logo. The $5 covers the cost of the lanyards, and we have a little left over for PTO. Open House is the night we also use for PTO committee sign ups. We'll have a list of committees at the membership table and have volunteers there to answer any questions and encourage sign ups.
All of our Open House PTO volunteers will be dressed in one of the new t-shirts so we're easy to spot if someone needs assistance throughout the evening.
We're ready and looking forward to another great year!
We have done 2 PTO Open Houses.. we did a raffle, volunteer sign ups, posters from our events, samples from Otis Spunkmeyer (our fall fundraiser), Stop and Shop Supermarket school support sign ups, video from our school's video productions, and we have several PTO members and board members on hand to chat with parents. And I would suggest more than a booth,, we had a half of our gym. Our PTO is a huge part of our school so we want to really show off!
Our brand new PTO is planning to have a booth at the Open House in August. Open House at our school is a meet your teacher, bring your supplies, find your room event. Does any one have experience and ideas for what to do in our booth? We signed up for the kickoff kit but it hasn't arrived yet. I'm sure we'll also put our 2 Hour Power plan into action as well. Thanks for your help!
