We hear you! Sometimes those suppers can feel like "same old, same old.'' We know of groups who have come up with their own very unique ideas, like this great story about a school that holds an annual Sausage Supper, which has become a really popular community event.
There are also groups that do multicultural food nights, encouraging families to bring in foods that represent their culture and pot luck dinner nights.
Or, you could go completely off script, change from doing a dinner night and do a different kind of family night entirely. We have a new story in our August issue that has 20 new ideas for fun family events. Check it out here: www.ptotoday.com/pto-today-articles/arti...20-fun-family-events
Do you guys use the canned soup or is it homemade. What are the sides? How much do you usually charge? Just interested because I am tired of doing the Spaghetti dinner fundraiser. Something new might bring in some new parents.
With our school we have at least one if not 2 chicken noodle dinners and they go over awesome. The community were in seems to really enjoy food events..because we are a christian school we also if we can combine it with a gospel jubilee celebration. We do it by free will contributions..But just wanting to share the idea and let everyone adapt to what they need for their schools.
