Sounds like you are off to a great start with your ideas. Thought you would enjoy our most recent video blog:

Would love to hear from other groups about what they did at their international or multi-cultural nights!

Hi all,

Been searching the forums and saw a few that posted briefly of their multi-cultural events. We are looking into possibly holding a Multi-Cultural Family Night at our preschool (we have approx 140 students). We held a Family Reading Night last year and it was highly successful.

Thoughts we've had so far for the event:
  • This is a free event for families to attend and have an outing with each other.
  • Costs should be fairly nominal as we will ask teachers and parents to host tables to introduce their culture/background.
  • hosts will provide a food item or two, as well as decorate their table accordingly;
  • we will compile music from parents/teachers and play throughout the night
  • we might have children learn a dance and demonstrate during the evening
I appreciate any further thoughts and suggestions to make this a success.
My goal is to bring families together more often, outside of school hours, while still promoting the school's vision of providing an enriching experience.

Thanks!
Elisa
