ASB is throwing a Xmas dance any suggestions? We need motivational ideas not just the plain boring ones like why not have an Xmas tree in the middle of the dance floor of course were gonna have that sooo
Every year we have 4 dances: a halloween dance, christmas dance, valentine's dance, and a spring dance. In every dance we have a king and queen. For halloween we chose the king and queen by seeing who has the best costume. For the valentines dance we chose by seeing who dances the best. For the spring dance we choose by doing a limbo contest. Do you have any ideas how we can choose for our christmas dance???
We had a Disco night a couple of months ago. I had a friend volunteer her time to DJ, we sold mardi gras beads, and the little glow bracelets for 50 cents each. The day of the dance we had a teacher dress up contest, where the students picked their favorite and the teacher was able to give away one of their cold day recess duties. We also had everyone dress up for the dance itself. It was a HUGE hit. We are a school of K-3 with about 500 students and within the first 1/2 hr we had over 200 people attend. We didn't charge to get in, but we did sell popcorn and juice and made over 400 dollars.
How about adding a service component since it a Christmas dance... like have a cookie decorating station and then donate the cookies to a homeless shelter?
Our elementary school is 2nd - 6th grade. We have a valentines dance each year, but this year we are also going to have a christmas dance. I am looking for ideas and suggestions on how I can make this a little different than it just being a dance. Most of the kids this age don't really dance that much, so I want to have some other things going on around the dancing. We don't really have a lot time, the dance is only an hour and a half long.
