We do a family bingo night inconjunction with the book fair. It is free to play bingo. We do offer hot dogs and chips or pizza for a minimal price. We hand out gift certificates for BINGO winners to use in the book fair. The certificates are usually $2 or $3. It is fun for the family and is a good thing for the school book fair.
We have a pizza bingo night at our school K-5. Parents pay for the number of pizzas they want for their family ahead of time. The families eat and then we all play bingo. The families pay $1.00 for three games that are on one sheet of paper. We get them from [ at Bingo Shop @

. We made one order and it has lasted us years! We use someone's bingo game from home that has a small spinning ball to toss the numbers ($20). We call the numbers and mark them on a big white board up on the stage

The players mark their numbers with crayons. When the person wins, we check it and we also give small prizes away--Gift cards to Barnes and Noble or a game place. A really easy and very fun night. Have someone walking around the room to sell more cards.
Our school has done Bingo Night for many years. We are in Connecticut and the regulations are pretty strict. For example, there is a limit on the value amount for the Bingo prize, specific signs needed to be posted at certain locations, everyone who works that night, except the food people, need to register with the state, a representative from the state comes the night of the event to make sure that we have done what we are supposed to and a report needs to be submitted with-in 10 days of the event. One year the report was late and the gaming commission wrote us asking where it was. There are also registration fees that need to be paid to the State. We do all these things because we choose to have our Bingo night be a fundraiser. Last year we netted close to $2,500.
Recently, Connecticut passed a new law allowing another Bingo option that has less regulations associated with it. Under these circumstances the organization needs to be a school/PTO(A) and they may only charge a nominal fee for entry, $1.00 or so. This allows the school to have the Bingo night as a family fun night and not a fundraiser.
Check with your state's gaming commission or commissioner of special revenue.

Hey all! We do this as a part of our free family nights for the year and do not charge anything for the bingo game itself. We play with a $10 bingo set (cage and balls) and then I just buy three packs of Bingo cards from Wal mart in the party section. We use cheerios as markers and the kids have a blast. Our prizes are usually small carnival type prizes that have been donated and then we sell hot dogs and nachos, licorice and drinks. Popcorn pre popped is another huge favorite and it can be purchased at Sam's Club - 30 bags for like $6 so we sell it for .50c and again - the kids go crazy. Plus it brings the family together for cheap! Good Luck!
We do Candy Bar Bingo at our school to get in you have to bring one large candy bar! It is a ton of fun! Our 6th grade students actually run it(with help from parents) they call the numbers, run concession and it is alot of fun!!
We printed boards from online and photocopied them, Bough our Bingo game from Target for about 25.00.
The only $ we make is from the food we sell. That way it really isn't gambling!!
We rent our cards and spinner from a local party store. Less than $100 for 500 slide cards and spinner. We call #s from the stage with microphone. Families pile everywhere in and around the room to play. We sell pizza and pop very cheap. We get donation of big prizes - tickets to local events etc... and buy some cheap toys and books. All kids put their name in a drawing when they come in - to help more kids win - we also draw names throughout the night to come choose a prize.
