Our carnival chair person is a little leary about having rides for our carnival in June. We've had bad experiences with the last 2 companies. So, we've decided to "ditch" the rides, and have a "Car-nival" instead. We'll still have all our games, which we made about 4 years ago, and the food, but instead of having rides in front of our school, we'll have old cars. Has anyone ever RUN a car show before? We were thinking about having a $5 entry fee, and then have prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place cars. We'd pass out tickets to each person coming through, and have them "vote" for the cars. I'm trying to figure out how to keep track though - maybe stamp their hands if they've voted, or when we give them the ticket to vote? Should we charge people to come through the car show portion ($1?). Anything else I should be aware of?
Our other idea is to have an outdoor movie after the carnival ends @ 8. We'd move the food out behind our school, clean up the gym, and have a big tent out back with the movie. We can start "cartoons" before the real movie to transition the kids. Any thoughts with this?
Thanks for your help/feedback.
