We just had a family skate night. How we ran ours was we really didn't care if we made a profit just enough to rent the rink. We had a great turn out and made a couple 100 bucks to boot. IE: Family pass $10.00 for 4 or more or $3.00 individual tickets skates were included. Anyways, I called around to fast food places Pizza Hut, Wendys, Arbys and they all gave me coupons for free items to give away plus we got some free skating passes to pass out about 30 kids won at least 3-4 coupons each. Every couple of songs we had a drawing. We did let the rink do their concession stand for them so then nobody had to do the work and not get to skate. Hope this helps you out a little.
We reward the class with the highest attendance a free round a laser tag.
Also, our school mascot always makes a visit and dances the cha cha slide and the cotton-eyed joe with the kids.
Other than that it's the roller-skating facilities thing and we let them do whatever they do, such as skate backwards, girls only skate, boys only skate, etc.
Our K-8 group is hosting a roller skating party in April -- bringing it back after a hiatus. Past complaint was that it was blah, just skating round and round.
I'd like to shake it up a bit... I remember playing 4 corners back in the day... I thought we could do some different relays or races... and I want to give glow jewelry as prizes...
Anyone do anything clever at their roller skating parties?
THANKS!
