I have had the privilege of seeing Rachael Rainwater perform the "Lady Liberty Live" program for a group of third grade students. She did a fantastic job of speaking to the students on their level, while covering state curriculum. She told the complete history of Lady Liberty from conception to present day. She brought history to life for everyone in the room; students, teachers, staff, and parents. She did not stand there like a "statue", but interacted with everyone in the room. She had students come up and participate, asked them questions and waited for their responses, and then answered any question the audience had for her.
The amount of information she covered in her short time with us was incredible, and I have been told she has added even more! After her presentation, the teachers all remarked about how much THEY had learned from Rachael.
I do not believe anyone who sees this presentation will ever be able to look at Lady Liberty the same again. It was an AMAZING presentaion.
The third grade teachers are looking forward to her return visit this coming school year, and being able to see the students' eyes light up as she enters the room. Rachael does something few teachers are able to do for very long.....captivate students!
