I am also planning a family reading night in March. I talked with a librarian at our city library (where they do several special programs every year) and she was a wealth of information on good books for an event like this. One she suggested for police is Officer Buckle and Gloria by Peggy Rathmann.
We are planning a Family Reading Night in a few months. I'm in the process of organizing our Guest Readers. We are doing a 'safety theme' and will be asking a policeman and fireman to come read to our students....I'm just stumped on what books to have them read.
We're a PK-8 school (though we'll likely have mostly PK-5 kids attend).
