Getting a consensus from a larger group of parents will at least give you more perspective on what parents are thinking. It depends on how you present it. If you ask them what they want and then the Executive Board decides to go in another direction, they will wonder why did they bother to ask. If you say you looking for suggestions for this years fundraiser to research and be a part of the possibilities for the year, they will know that more is involved than just picking something out of a hat.
Our PTO is planning a general meeting in the evening in about 2 weeks, we will serve a light dinner and also we are calling it Family Night to make it sound attractive and are thinking to include some sort of fun activity/fundraising to make it more fun and productive.
Any ideas on what we can do that wont cost a lot and take too much time.
Also should we include all our parents in helping us to decide as to what we should make our fundraising focus for this year or shoudl we limit that to the exec. board, wont it open a Pandoras box or all sorts of things, if we put it forward in the general meeting? We have already decided that the method of fundraising and event ideas will be left to us.
