Yes, pre-sell and sell at the door. Without money involved people will RSVP and then not show and you want a count of the people to know what to expect. Also a great thing about pre-selling is that some people will buy a ticket just to support you but not attend, so thats money for nothing. I agree with JHB in having the pre-sale at a lesser price. That motivates people to buy right away as opposed to waiting till the last minute.
I'd prefer to pre-sell with the opportunity to purchase at the door for a higher amount. (Actually, you want the at-the-door price to be "regular" and the advance-purchase to be "discounted" or "special advance pricing".
Same difference, but the wording is more positive.
We are planning a spaghetti dinner and dance in a few weeks and we are discussing/debating whether to have advance tickets or sell at the door. I am in charge of dinner and want to know how much to cook for...Would RSVP's work just as well, and they can purchase their tickets at the door? Also any advice to give on hosting such an event, it's our first.
