We do it ourselves with a 2 person committee and then a larger volunteer base for the "pack up" day. We don't do it as a fundraiser but usually do realize a profit because of sales and also shopping on the "no tax day" in VA for back to school items. It works out fine and as long as you've got a couple of folks that want to work it you can do it. We usually pack upwards of 200 packets a school year.

We are looking into this for our school. The one issue that we found is that in our surrounding towns that have done this is that the kids complain about the color of this and the packeging on that. We went to our local Staples store and asked if they could supply us with items the first day of school. We would set up a table and they could pick and choose for themselves.
Another idea we thought of is doing it ourselves with volunteers. Package the items and cut out the middleman. You could keep the costs down and maybe make a little money. But it would be A LOT of work and time.

) School-Pak is another company but I wasn't impressed with them. They don't accept returns and EPI is one other we checked into.
Our PTO is interested in trying out a fundraiser for Back to School supplies for the Elementary grades. Has anyone done this in the past? Who did you use? Do you have any recommendations?
Searching on-line I found "Schoolkidz" and "Schooldepot" but I don't know anything about them. Thanks for your help.
